The long range weather forecast is looking promising for Molokai -
there's a 12-13kt northeast trade wind
forecast for Hawaii Kai, which should
mean classic conditions out in the
Kaiwi Channel.
Some of the best paddlers in the world
are there and, if the conditions are good
(ie downwind conditions) it'll be a race
between Oscar Chalupsky (SA),
Matt Bouman (SA), Clint Robinson
(Aus - defending champion),
Bruce Taylor (Aus) with Martin Kenny (Aus) challenging as well.
Locals Zsolt Szadovski and Patrick Dolan
should be in the mix too - along with a
host of other paddlers from all over
the world. Lauren Bartlett (USA HI) is
expected to dominate the women's race
to take a fifth consecutive title.
